Infrastructure development

The Agency is currently managing a research partnership looking at the availability of broadband internet provision for SME’s as well as links to the borough’s educational establishments. The partnership aims to give local ICT based SMEs a competitive advantage by using aggregation of demand to bring about faster and cheaper roll out of ADSL services in the local area, as well as finding new collaborative uses for that technology.

Clusters - protect and develop

One of the strengths of the borough as identified in the report is the density and quality of Creative Sector clusters in the borough. The Cluster round Deptford and New Cross being the most significant. The agency, mainly through a soon to be appointed Creative Enterprise Zone Manager, is working to strengthen and protect the existing cluster as well as market it as a destination for cultural tourism.
