The agency lobbies for the implementation of the borough’s art policy and on a practical level brokers the purchase of artists’ work and the commission of artists’ projects.
The web site will soon act as a borough central catalogue of work and artists available for commission

Competition culture

The agency would like to see all projects that incorporate design, however large or small, to be chosen by open competition. To this end it is running a number of pilot competition schemes which will hopefully stretch imaginations and catalyse yet more projects.

Area specific design briefs

Under the Creative Lewisham banner, the borough has commissioned a number of area specific design briefs with Deptford and Forest Hill being the first. The agency contributes to the consultation process - arguing for the importance of the creative sector and scanning for opportunities where the sector can be more involved in the end product
