Greenwich Black History Month Projects and Events
We are currently requesting information about events and activities that are due to take place in Greenwich during Black History Month 2008.  Organisations are asked to complete and return the attached marketing information form in order to ensure that their events are included in this year’s marketing campaign.

If you (or any of the groups or organisations that you are in contact with) are undertaking any projects and/or events for Black History Month, and would like to have them included in the 2008 Black History Month marketing campaign, please download and complete the form and return it to tracey.sage@greenwich.gov.uk

Free support workshops for jewellers

Film London launches the Black Film Exhibition Publicity Fund

If you're looking to raise the profile of Black film talent in the capital then you might be eligible to apply.
The fund has been designed to support additional promotional activity that will enable Black film exhibition activity to excel. Film London will work with all successful applicants through forums, surgeries and targeted training schemes to assist in the development of these innovative marketing plans.
BFEPF is available to any activity focused on screening Black film within London which is already funded and running, or is already fully planned and budgeted. Organisations that can apply include:

  • Film festivals, cinemas and other film exhibitors
  • Arts venues (visual, performance, mixed)
  • Museums, libraries and archives
  • Youth and community organisations
  • Schools, colleges, universities
  • Production companies

£100,000 is available over a period of 2 years. There are two levels of funding: Fast Track, for amounts of up to £3,000 – no specific deadlines apply; and Main Fund, for amounts from £3,001 to £30,000 - with rolling deadlines from August 2008 to October 2009.
Examples of fundable activity might include: employing a professional PR company, running a targeted advertising campaign in the press, radio, print or online, adding a live music element to a film screening event, or creating a community outreach scheme.
